Melissa Bandura is a Vancouver-based Independent Folk musician and multi-instrumentalist. Using her fiddle skills, guitar licks, flute chops, and classical theory background, Melissa skillfully writes and arranges her songs to be uniquely orchestral. Adding to her instrumentation, Melissa’s softly powerful, haunting vocals thread their way through her diverse range of owing melodies, refreshing harmonies, eccentric chord changes and unique rhythmic phrasing.
Building on her background in folk-roots sounds, Melissa crosses into slightly darker and intricate territory with the songs that grace her upcoming album, Dark Dreams.

Buglight Workshops ( Afraid of the dark?)
Before the flashlight era many skiers and hikers lit their way to mountain cabins and along North Vancouver’s trails using buglights. Homemade contraptions of candles rigged in tin cans these were inexpensive and effective in the dark forests.
So if you’re afraid of cougars, bears, and the dark (oh my!), grab yourself a Bug Lamp to guide your way through the night.
To learn how to make your own ‘bug’ visit our tent at Ship Builders Square during the Campfires Festival.
