Ana Isabel - scarves
Ana graduated from Capilano University’s Textile Arts Program in 2010, where she was awarded various bursaries and the Circle Craft Student Scholarship. Since graduating, she has worked on various fibre related projects including producing a line of all natural wearables under the name Ana Isabel and various weavings for the film industry.
After spending part of this year traveling throughout India, she has been inspired to create a line of neck wear using light silks and linen and dyed with natural materials. She is currently exploring ideas for group shows and designing some one of a kind pieces for Fall 2011.
What often inspires me is material and nature. I use natural materials to create my wearable pieces. I also hand dye using only natural dyes as I feel that they are the most sustainable and most beautiful. I also often look outside for inspiration, everything from the Vancouver sky, mountains, ocean to the urbanity of downtown.
