The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is a social-profit, charitable organization devoted to the promotion and development of the arts in all media. We believe in the intrinsic value of art to inspire, to heal, to bridge sectors, generations and cultures and to enhance and enrich the communities where we live, work and play. We support both emerging and established artists and we promote and partner with organizations, groups and corporations who support and strengthen arts and culture in our community.
The NVCAC has over 500 members, including many who are active volunteers at our events, galleries, openings and community projects.
What we do:
- assist residents to access information about arts and culture in the community
- empower youth to access creative opportunities in the arts
- enable artists through exhibitions, projects, events and programme opportunities
- assist in accessing facilities for member groups and artists in the community
- bridge generations, sectors and cultures and build communities through the arts
- advocate for art and culture with all levels of government
- develop partnerships with other cultural organizations, government, and the private sector to produce inter-regional events, projects, programmes and facilities
