FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Call for 2D and 3D Artists

The North Vancouver Community Arts Council is currently accepting submissions for the Art in the Community Programme for 2012. This exhibition programme takes place at two venues:  The District Foyer Gallery in the District Municipal Hall; and The District Library Gallery in the Lynn Valley Main Library. Submissions are welcome from visual artists working in all medium including painting, photography, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, wood and metal work. Successful candidates will be awarded an eight-week exhibition at one of these high profile venues, complete with an opening reception and broad based promotion. Curatorial staff at the NVCAC will determine which venue is best suited for each of the qualifying artists.

This programme is facilitated by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council in partnership with the District of North Vancouver and the District Lynn Valley Main Library. It is designed to enable emerging artists to gain exposure and experience the professional orchestration and hanging of a show in a public environment. The programme celebrates and promotes artists, and exposes the public to visual art
in non-traditional environments.
