The North Vancouver Community Arts Council has partnered with SFU to host a Philosophers’ Café at CityScape Community Art Space during the Pushing Boundaries exhibition.
Cafés are always free, and everyone is welcome to join the conversation.
The discussion will be guided by the following questions:
What is cultural appropriation?
How might we, as individuals, play a role in Indigenous cultural appropriation?
What are the positive ways forward to build cultural appreciation?
Pushing Boundaries exhibition celebrates contemporary First Nations artwork and runs Oct 6 – Nov 10, 2017 at CityScape Community Art Space.
Philosophers’ Café is a series of informal public discussions in libraries, cafes, restaurants and gathering places throughout Metro Vancouver. The cafes, open to everyone, have brought dialogue and discussion to thousands of people who are interested in exploring issues from the absurd to the sublime. Learn more about the Philosophers’ Café.
