MY LIFE’S JOURNEY IN ART CONTINUES
INTO UNKNOWN AND EXCITING PATHS.
I PROBE THE DIFFERENT ROADS
THAT LEAD TO UNCHARTERED HORIZONS
Tessie has a Bachelor in Fine Arts Degree from the University of the Philippines. She has had 12 solo exhibits and has joined numerous group shows in the Philippines, Canada and the USA.
Art has always been a constant in Tessie’s life; from advertising artist, art teacher, practising artist, homemaker, she has since gone on to new lands. Today, she calls Vancouver home. The grey skies and the changing colors of the seasons, contrasts dramatically with the bright hues of tropical landscape of her youth. Tessie is comfortable in both palettes.
Throughout her long career, she has painted in oils, pastels, acrylics and watercolour. She does not hesitate to experiment and combine the different mediums to achieve a desired effect.
She is an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and was awarded an “Award of Excellence ” in a past juried show. She participates in the annual shows of the SPAA – Society of Phillipine-American Artists, based in New York City. Tessie is a featured artist in the book published by the Ateneo University Press – “Self-Portraits 2 – Fourteen Filipina Artists Speak.” She is also featured in the book Art in the Philippine Center – New York.
Tessie is always eager to share her art in her adopted city. She has taught for several years at the Vancouver School Board (Continuing Education) and has conducted several workshops and discussion groups. Today, she continues to work and teach from her home studio.
Her works are found in homes in Canada, the Phillippines and the USA.
