1) Thomas Wiebe & Chiahu Iinuma – Nov 18
One of Canada’s leading cellists, Thomas Wiebe joins the outstanding chamber musician Chiharu Iinuma to collaborate on a program spanning three centuries. The program includes music by composers as varied as Couperin, Debussy, Takemitsu and Chopin. Location: St.John’s Anglican Church on Lonsdale Ave & 8th St. W.
2) Vancouver Cello Quartet – Jan 26
Ranging from Baroque to Tango, Mozart to Piazzolla, and The Beatles, this ensemble of highly regarded classical cellists produce the unique sound of four cellos. Location: West Vancouver United Church, 2062 Esquimalt Avenue, WV.
3) Zodiac Trio & Ariel Barnes – Mar 31
Quickly rising to international stardom, a former principal cellist of the Vancouver Symphony and current principal cellist of the Nürnberger Symphoniker, Germany, Ariel Barnes brings the unsurpassed chamber ensemble, the Zodiac Trio, to present a world class performance!
4) The Quintets – Jun 2
Six of young Canadian soloists and chamber musicians share the stage with the most celebrated quintet masterworks and a Canadian composition.
